If you plan to do a great deal with the router, consider purchasing a kit that has both bases, allowing you to interchange them. Routers have more accessories than any other power tool on the market. There are several hundred bits you can choose from. A common accessory is a router table. They are great for trying to router very small parts, as they hold everything securely in place for you. 

You can choose to use a drill with or without a cord. The cord models are traditional, but cordless drills help reduce accidental falls due to tripping over the cord and possible electrocution. You can also use them in places where a power source isn t conveniently located. One draw back is the possibility of the battery going dead. 

This is great for getting the perfect fit on the corners on the first try. These next two items are debated as to their necessity when it comes to power tools. It really depends on your preference and the types of projects you will be doing. A sander that works with or against the grain is something I recommend if you will be doing any type of sanding. 

They are very versatile, so it is a great choice if you don t want to have to purchase several saws that you only use occasionally. Circular saws are powerful enough to cut through very thick wood. Make sure you choose one that has a high level of power and comes with the on/off location in an easy to reach location in the event you need to turn it off in a hurry. 

This is a great investment as it is often less expensive then purchasing individual accessories. You may not know what accessories you are going to need down the road for a particular power tool. That can keep you from purchasing the power tool kit with accessories, then you may wish you had them down the road.

This is the fastest and strongest cordless rotary tool available on the entire market. That is quite an accomplishment for the Dremel Corporation. The battery will stay charged for up to two years at a time.
